Success stories

MartyMarty was a loyal, faithful and loving friend to his former owner for 11 years. Then one day he found himself dumped at a shelter by the same person he believed would always love him, because his owner was moving and didn't want to take him along. The shelter workers couldn't believe that someone would ever part with such a wonderful boy, and worked very hard to find a home or rescue for him. Marty was accepted into the Paws Unlimited rescue program, and after being fostered for a couple of months, a wonderful woman in Maryland adopted him!

CaseyCasey was just a puppy when she was rescued from a kill shelter in Georgia. She came up with her mom (Sabin, who was also rescued) and even though they were separated she is with a wonderful family in Park Ridge, New Jersey.

GeorgiaA transport of dogs, including Georgia, came up from Georgia with heartworm. They all successfully completed their treatment and were adopted to different homes. Georgia now has a new home in Queens.

SavannahSavannah was in the same group of dogs as Georgia (above). Savannah is now living Nanuet.

ShamusMcGraw (now Shamus) came up from Georgia, too. He now goes to work everyday with his owner in Warwick, New York.

ClementineClementine's foster family has fallen completely in love with her, and they are now her permanent family!

Gypsy RoseGypsy Rose had an old injury that was never treated and was going to be euthanized at a kill shelter before she was even a year old! She was brought to New York from a shelter in Ohio. She received medical care and found a great home in Orange County, New York!

KatieKatie was rescued from the North Shore Animal League, but her new family had a cat and Katie really didn't like her. Her family thought she needed a new home, but Paws connected them to a trainer, and they have decided they can make it work with Katie in their home!

Eire's owners released her to Paws Unlimited when they were concerned for their new baby. She now lives in a single-pet house and plays with her doggie neighbor almost every day.

Roscoe was rescued from a kill shelter. He had been hit by a car. His leg was amputated and he now lives in Kingston, New York with two pugs!

Max's owner found out Max needed hip surgery when he was only seven months old. Even if his owner had been able to afford the surgery, Max could not have climbed the four flights of stairs where he lived. Paws Unlimited was called -- and they contacted Dr. Steckel, who performed surgery on Max's left hip. Max received hydrotherapy, and now lives in a stair-free home!

FlynnFlynn's owners decided not to keep him because their pit bull did not like him. Paws Unlimited contacted Irish Terrier Rescue, and while they were helping look for a new home, Flynn was neutered. He now lives in New Hampshire with three other Irish terriers.
